To all of our dedicated readers...
It's been a little over a month since we've last written. So much was changing so fast that I couldn't think of how to write it all in the blog. But Here's the quick and dirty of what has happened in the last month.
The Hunter 37 turned out to be a pile of crap. The inspection came back with more problems than Tigers marriage. Which broke our hearts but ultimately ended up being a blessing in disguise. That boat, even in good condition, wasn't quite the fit we thought she was.
So, we hit the trail hard looking for the perfect boat once again. This time, being early spring, we went out to local marinas to rub shoulders with the salty old sailors whom had been in our novice shoes once before. Meeting with perfect strangers on nice days with the common talking point of sailing turned into a very informative experience for Andy and me.
With this new advice, we were steered in the direction of Bayfield, WI. That is where we found our new boat! Her name (for now) is Blue Tomorrow. She is a 1977 Bristol 29.9 (29' 11.5''). We had her inspected and the report came back even better than expected! She comes as a well equipped sloop rig design with roller furling, self tailing winches, radar, and a lot more! We still need to retrofit her with a few other bells and whistles but, shy of a little more bottom paint, she's sail ready! I'd like to be the 1st to introduce you to our new home! YOLO.
